The schedule of the GTT Users' Meeting 2019 and GTT's software courses

Users' meeting ( Program )

Every year GTT invites users and customers to join the GTT Users' Meeting. At these events users share their experiences with GTT products, get new ideas for their work and make suggestions for further developments. User presentations on thermochemical applications using GTT products show the broad variety of possibilities to improve basic academic research, industrial product and process development, and as well as production methods.

The users' meeting will take place from Wednesday lunch time to Friday lunch time. The users' meeting is open to everybody and free of charge, but please note that registration is required. Please check the program of the GTT Users' Meeting 2019.

Registrations for the workshop will be accepted until Monday, June 24th, 12:00 p.m.

Software courses

We are happy to announce that we will be offering FactSage and ChemSheet courses directly before the Users' Meeting. The following events are scheduled:

Monday, June 24th and Tuesday, June 25th

Monday, June 24th

Tuesday, June 25th  and Wednesday morning, June 26th

FactSage course

ChemSheet course

ChemAppPy course (cancelled)

The FactSage course is a basic introductory course taking two days.

Contents of the course:

1) Introduction to thermochemistry
2) Fundamentals of Equilibrium Calculations and Gibbs energy minimization
3) FactSage Basics
4) FactSage Calculation Modules: Reaction, Equilib and Phase Diagram Modules
5) FactSage Manipulation Modules: Results and Figure Modules

The course fee is 550 € (+ 19% VAT) and includes teaching materials, coffee breaks and lunch. The number of participants is 2 to 6, so please register as soon as possible via the online registration form.

ChemSheet is a ChemApp-based thermochemistry add-in for Excel. It enables the user to perform process simulations through a programmable Excel spreadsheet interface.

Karri Penttilä from VTT will present the new version of ChemSheet, ChemSheet2, which is compatible with both the 32 bit and 64 bit versions of Excel.

This version represents a major upgrade of the previous version. It is fully compatible with the ChemSheet models generated with the previous version and the user interface was re-designed.

The course fee is 170 € (+ 19% VAT) and includes teaching material, coffee breaks and lunch. The number of participants is limited to 20, so please register as soon as possible via the online registration form.

This course was cancelled. Please make contact with Andrea Steyn of Ex Mente (, if you are interested in an online course.

ChemAppPy is a Python package that makes ChemApp, the
thermochemistry library developed by GTT-Technologies, available in Python 3.6+. It includes  additional tools that make thermochemical calculations easier and quicker to do.

In preparation for the course you will receive a “self-tuition” Python pack. This will get you started with Python and
teach you the basics needed to use ChemAppPy effectively. At the start of the course we will recap these Python fundamentals. The remaining time will be dedicated to ChemAppPy.

This year’s annual users’ meeting will be held again at the Technologie Park HerzogenrathKaiserstrasse 100, D-52134 Herzogenrath-Kohlscheid, Germany, located about 7 km from the centre of Aachen. The closest train station is Kohlscheid, which is within 10 min walking distance.
A map and travel details will be sent to participants with confirmation of their registration.

Participation Fees:

The participation at the User's Meeting is free of charge. Drinks, coffee and tea will be served during the users' meeting. Please specify later in the registration form if you would like to attend the dinner on Thursday, June 27th (at own cost).
We suggest to have common lunch in a nearby Chinese-Mongolian Restaurant (at own cost).

The course fees are 550 € for the FactSage course and 170€ for the ChemSheet course (+ 19% VAT, for all courses). The number of participants is limited, so please register as soon as possible via the online registration form.

Adequate, reasonably priced hotel accommodation is available in the area. For hotel and tourist information, please consult the web page of the Aachen Tourist Service.
