Dr. Moritz to Baben
Dr. Moritz to Baben finished his diploma studies in Metallurgical Engineering at RWTH Aachen University in 2007. He did his PhD at Materials Chemistry (Prof. Jochen M. Schneider, RWTH Aachen University) in 2013 where he was also active in teaching materials chemistry classes and introduced video excercises and a virtual student's lab. Dr. Stephan Petersen
Dr. Stephan Petersen graduated in Metallurgical Engineering at RWTH Aachen University in 1989. He started to work in thermochemistry as an undergraduate student at the Department of Theoretical Metallurgy (now Materials Chemistry) at RWTH Aachen University in the working groups of Dr. Philip Spencer and Dr. Klaus Hack. He subsequently joined the Institute of Solid State Research at Forschungszentrum Jülich, where he worked on high-pressure solution growth and defect thermochemistry of gallium-arsenide. This formed the basis for his Ph.D. degree, which he received in 1994. He joined GTT-Technologies in 1992 and is the Managing Director since April 2018.
Dr. Gunnar Eriksson
Dr. Gunnar Eriksson is the developer of the successful thermochemical application software programs, ChemSage, and its equally renowned predecessor SOLGASMIX. He graduated in Chemistry at Umeå University, where his main interest was the development of software programs for the calculation of complex multiphase, multicomponent equilibria. He has published about 80 scientific papers in this and related fields. He has worked mainly in Canada and Germany; and for shorter periods, in the USA, England, Australia and Japan. Prof. Dr. Klaus Hack
Dr. Klaus Hack graduated in Physics from RWTH Aachen University, Germany. He started working in thermochemistry while undertaking research for his diploma (high temperature mass spectrometry on ternary alloys) and continued in this field with his doctoral work (adiabatic high temperature calorimetry on ternary alloys). During his postdoctoral work at National Physical Laboratory, UK, he carried out assessments of boron-metal systems and also developed software for the assessment and calculation of binary and higher order substitutional solution properties. Dr. Jürgen Korb
Dr. Jürgen Korb graduated in Metallurgy at Bergakaddemie Freiberg. He did research on single crystal silicon growth in industry prior to returning to akademie to perform scientific research on semiconductor materials and pyro metallurgical processes. He recieved his Ph.D. in 1977, and has authored 14 scientific publications. He joined GTT-Technologies in 1991.
Dr. Ernst Münstermann
Dr. Ernst Münstermann graduated in Physics from RWTH Aachen University, Germany. He started his research work in experimental thermochemistry (thermogravimetry, emf measurements, high temperature mass spectrometry). For many years he was Oberingenieur at the Department of Theoretical Metallurgy (now Materials Chemistry) at RWTH Aachen University. He joined our company in 2011 and acted as Managing Director until his retirement in 2018. His is still active as a freelance consultant at GTT-Technologies.
Bahador Boroumand (B.Sc.)
Mr. Bahador Boroumand graduated in B.Sc. Computer Science at Aachen University of Applied Sciences in Germany. His technical interests have been Computer Networks and IT Security, and his thesis was accomplished in the area of Forensic Readiness in Industrial Networks. He started working as a full-time IT Administrator at GTT-Technologies in April 2019. Beforehand, he was responsible for Server and Network Infrastructure in the company as student assistant since November 2018.
Dipl. -Math. (SU) Liudmila Greven
Mrs. Liudmila Greven studied applied mathematics at the Tomsk Polytechnic University, Russia. She worked as a developer of algorithms and software programs, also implemented and serviced system software and databases at the Project Institute of Oil and Gas in Yekaterinburg, Russia. In 2007 she joined GTT-Technologies.
Dr. Tatjana Jantzen
Dr. Tatjana Jantzen graduated in Physics at the Ural Polytechnic Institute, Ekaterinburg, Russland. She started to work in thermochemistry 1995 at the Department for Theoretical Metallurgy, RWTH Aachen University, in the working group of Dr. P. Spencer. In 2002 she joined GTT-Technologies. Her professional area is the modeling of phases, thermodynamic evaluations of metallic and slagsystems, and creating of databases.
Dr. Philipp Keuter
Dr. Philipp Keuter finished his master studies in Business Administration and Materials and Process Engineering at RWTH Aachen University in 2016. He did his PhD at Materials Chemistry (Prof. Jochen M. Schneider, RWTH Aachen University) in 2020, dealing with anomalous thermophysical properties and desorption-assisted phase formation of intermetallic thin films. He joined GTT-Technologies in 2021. Wajahat Murtuza Khan (M.Sc.)
Mr. Wajahat M. Khan obtained his Bachelors degee in Computers Science Engineering from Osmania University in Hyderabad, India. After working as an IT specialist in India he moved to Germany and graduated with a Masters degree in Software Systems Engineering from RWTH Aachen University with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence, Informations Systems & Databases and wrote his Master thesis in the area of High Performance Computing. Prior to joining GTT-Technologies, he had worked on various R&D projects at the University and was a project engineer at the German Aerospace Center (DLR).
Bruno Reis (M.Sc.)
Mr. Bruno Reis graduated in Metallurgical Engineering at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) in Brazil, 2013. He worked with computational thermochemistry on the field of Inclusion Engineering at the Steelmaking Laboratory (UFRGS) throughout the year of 2013. In 2014 he had an experience as an intern at GTT-Technologies, when he worked on the version of SimuSage for Lazarus IDE. He received his Masters degree in 2015 with the thesis entitled "A Thermodynamic Model for The Waelz Kiln". Afterwards, he worked at STE - Science, Technology & Engineering as a technical consultant for computational thermochemistry. He joined GTT-Technologies at the end of 2016.
Dr. Joao Rezende
Dr. Joao Rezende finished his Bachelor in Materials Engineering at the Military Institute of Engineering in Brazil in 1991. After getting graduated also in Materials Engineering at the Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro in 1994, he was granted a DAAD scholarship for his Ph.D. studies at the RWTH Aachen. His Ph.D. focused on the microstructure simulation of the solidification of Ni-basis superalloys and was finished in 1999. Since then, Dr. Rezende has worked in the steel industry and also at the academia on projects focusing microstructure simulation, solidification and both thermodynamics and kinetics of phase transformations in general. Dr. Rezende joined GTT-Technologies in 2018.
Dr. Michael Schick
Dr. Michael Schick graduated in chemistry from the University of Bonn in 2001. Subsequently he focused on surface science, especially on the examination of epitaxial crystal growth using molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) and atomic force microscopy (AFM) at the Institute of Physical and Theoretical Chemistry (University of Bonn), where he received his PhD degree in 2006. From 2006 to 2010 he worked as a scientist at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in Cologne, examining thermophysical properties of liquid metallic alloys. In 2010 he joined Materials Chemistry (MCh) at RWTH Aachen University, where he was involved in thermodynamic modeling of binary and ternary metallic systems using CALPHAD methods. He joined GTT-Technologies in 2012.
Dr. Florian Tang
Dr. Florian Tang finished his diploma studies in Computational Material Science at RWTH Aachen University in 2011. From 2011 to 2013 he worked in the Institute for Physical Metallurgy and Metal Physics (Prof. Gottstein, RWTH Aachen University) and from 2013 to 2017 at the Institute for Materials Applications in Mechanical Engineering (Prof. Christoph Broeckmann, Dr. Bengt Hallstedt, RWTH Aachen University) in the Collaborative Research Center 761 'Steel - ab-initio' and has already submitted his PhD thesis about thermodynamic modeling of high manganese steels alloyed with aluminium. Dr. Guixuan Wu
Dr. Guixuan Wu completed his master studies in Metallurgical Engineering at RWTH Aachen University in 2012. He performed his PhD studies in Forschungszentrum Jülich and received the PhD degree from RWTH Aachen University in 2015. During his PhD studies a new structure based viscosity model for oxide melts was developed and he continued to work on the viscosity modelling as a postdoc in Forschungszentrum Jülich.
