Abstract

The advantages associated with the application of the thermochemical databank system THERDAS to the investigation of potentially hazardous emissions associated with different waste treatment processes are described.

Examples of calculations relating to the release of halogens, dioxine and heavy-metal gaseous species to the atmosphere during different waste treatment processes are presented. The results provide information allowing likely safe operating conditions to be selected for the processes concerned.
